Retro Family Movie Night

retro family movie nightYou may have seen some movie reviews floating around the NTT (every Friday, to be precise). What are we up to? We’re attempting to watch one ‘retro’ movie together as a family per week, then reviewing it for all of you here. Why ‘retro’ movies? We want to revisit some of the classics (and not so classic) that the kids have never seen, but should. (I ask you: how can I expect them to grow up to be productive adults if they haven’t seen Big?) Also, what can I say? We’re nostalgic in our old age.

The criteria:

1. The movie has to be PG (or in rare cases, PG-13). Interestingly, we’ve found that what was PG-13 in the ’80s is solidly PG today.

2. It has to appeal to everyone, from the grown-ups to the seven-year-old.

3. It has to be appropriate for everyone, appealing or not. Remember, the age range of our kids is 7-13. This is kind of tricky.

4. It has to be at least 10 years old (and therefore a new movie to all the kids).

What we’ve already seen (and what the kids thought of them):
